Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Patchwork on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.
  2. Drag the APK/XAPK file directly into LDPlayer.

Mobile app doesn't display half the available jobs that are shown on the patchwork website. I rely on the mobile app as I don't have access to a desktop on a regular basis. Can't get several functions on the app to work. E.g. doesn't allow me to filter only the jobs for my speciality. I can either see everything, which means scrolling through significant amounts of unrelated jobs, or if i try to filter I can't see anything at all. Have raised this issue (and others) several times with support.

Excellent experience. Easy to find the shifts, book, and get signed. Any issues I had were quickly resolved. I highly recommend this app for bank shifts.

The function of the app is excellent - easy to book shifts, see your calendar, have access to contact details etc. However unfortunately over time it just gets slower and more unwieldy. It struggles to apply more than 1 filter. If you click on a shift you are returned to the top of the list when you click back and have to scroll down and load again. The removal of hourly rate from the main screen makes no sense. Excellent idea, remains just about functional, but could do with serious improvement

Repeatedly crashes & lads despite updates. It's a great concept but not reliably functional

Unstable, takes ages to load "block" tab, crashes frequently, unable to delete shifts I've never worked , can't manually enter a shift I have worked. This means extra work for someone else - whereby the app was supposed to reduce workload. It's an untidy non user-friendly app.

previous iteration of the app as 'locumtap' was excellent with a great, easy to use interface where you could instantly book shifts suited to you. New change initially provided a clunky user experience, which for the last 2 months has not worked on android. Very disappointed with the change
