About this app

Welcome to the Point of Ayr App, a fascinating app that takes you around the site of the last deep pit in North East Wales.

This trail gives you a fascinating insight into life underground for both the men and the pit ponies, the importance of the Dee Estuary, once as a shipping route and now for wildlife, as well as Talacre, home of the iconic lighthouse.

You can enjoy fabulous views over the Dee Estuary whatever time of year and stop for some well earned refreshments in Talacre. The walk is approximately 3 miles or 5 km so allow 1 – 2 hours to explore at leisure.

The app content is available in both English and Welsh languages.
