About this app
Ever wanted to capture the full scene while in the air with your DJI drone? Well now you can, thanks to the Sky Spheres Recorder app for DJI drones and advanced photo stitching software.
This simple application will automate the process of capturing photos or recording a video of everything the drone could see in every direction, except upwards.
The Sky Spheres recorder for DJI drones supports two capture modes: Photo capture mode or Video capture mode. You can easily switch between modes before you start the capture.
With the click of a button, your drone becomes a VR image capture device. A video file or a sequence of photos will be saved to your storage device on the DJI drone. The video will be about 3 minutes in length and if using photo capture mode there will be 84 photos saved. You can use these media files with panorama stitching programs like Microsoft ICE to generate a 360° panoramic image which can be viewed with VR goggles or other VR viewing software.
For full details about how to use the app, generate the images, apply post processing techniques and view in VR software (including posting to Facebook as a VR post), see the Sky Spheres official website here:

THE AIRCRAFT MUST BE IN F-MODE (FUNCTION MODE) FOR THIS APP TO WORK. Use the controller to switch to F-mode before starting.
USE A CLASS-10 SD CARD - Please make sure you are using a Class-10 SD card or better, especially when using the photo capture mode. If you don't, the sequence may not be collected 100%.
You may encounter some issues trying to connect your drone and controller to the Sky Spheres Recorder app before take off. Please follow this guide, it may help you in getting a successful connection.
• Make sure no DJI-based apps (including DJI Go or other third party DJI drone/osmo apps) are running in the background. If there are any, force kill them
• If you have another app (such as DJI Go) set as the default for the remote controller USB connection, you will need to clear the defaults for that app in your mobile device (Settings – Apps – DJI Go (or other app name) – Clear Defaults). Please note that with Android 6+, some devices automatically set the app you start as default, so this step needs to be done every time you want to switch app (for example from DJI Go to Sky Spheres Recorder and vice versa)
• Start your aircraft and remote controller, and let them initialize for a few seconds
• Plug the remote controller into the mobile device
• You will see a popup asking which app to start, select Sky Spheres Recorder in the popup to initiate connection
