Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Scrypted Home Automation on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Seems OK, but entirely useless to me since I can't link Alexa because I'm not a part of the "beta test list" that there seems to be no way to sign up for, nor is any of this mentioned in the description above. It straight up says Alexa support. But that's false. Had to dig through the http portal for the service to find this information out. This is pretty basic stuff, and really needs to be made very clear in the description that more than half of the people can't possibly test this right now.

This app will not run. Installed on 2 different devices, won't run on either. Just get "Unfortunately, Scrypted Home Automation has stopped" Used to work but now it has stopped. Seemed like a good idea, but I didn't have a chance to setup any automation before it stopped working

Can't connect to Google Home. (tried 4 times) Plugins don't work at least for now. PC connection to the host also broken. Released too soon?
