About this app

SynToy is a (kind of) living semi-autonomous toy.

It enables playing with SynTalk's ideas & concepts using an abstract mathematically rendered space. You may select from 1000s of conceptual questions to render the abstract space, and then select from 1000s of discursive snippets (tiles) using colour & proximity cues, make private mental notes, and self create listening sessions ranging from a minute to over a 100 hours. In the (( dream )) mode you may also let SynToy auto-create about an hour long listening session for you.

SynToy has been created as a technology enabled and algorithm-driven personal resource for thinking, & playing with ideas and concepts. The underlying, dynamic, question-dependent conceptual space is created using formal mathematical and philosophical notions. We have left it to you to develop your personal taste for the shape, density, continuity, betweenness, distance, and the values of this space.

SynToy could become an extension of your mind.

About SynTalk: SynTalk is a freewheeling interdisciplinary talk show with a philosophical approach to understanding the world from a long term perspective. SynTalk believes that all understanding lies on nodes, and it therefore brings together concepts, ideas and impulses from different epistemological categories. SynTalk usually deals with disciplines such as art, mathematics, computer science, literature, logic, sciences, social sciences, philosophy, psychology, media, design, music, medicine, political theory, ecology, public policy, technology, economics, physics, anthropology, gaming, history, and artificial intelligence. SynTalk’s goal is to contribute & promote original interdisciplinary collaboration & research inside, outside and across academic institutions, companies, think tanks, independent intellectuals, students, entrepreneurs, hobbyists, connoisseurs, and common folk. In the long run, SynTalk aspires to become a global platform for fence-less thinking.

SynTalk is currently in Turn Four. The episodes are recorded in Mumbai, India.
