About this app

There are two ways to catch garangan or weasel, which is capture alive, or catch it dead. For the second method, it can be done using an instrument, such as wood, iron, or a stick. Or it could be by shooting it with hunting rifles or air rifles. In rural tribes, you can also use poison arrows or chopsticks.

Whereas the method of catching garangan in living conditions is usually done by making / installing traps. This method is relatively more popular because of the trend among people to make garangan / civet as a pet. Here are some examples of traps for garangan:

First, by using a trap in the form of a cage. The cage design usually has a cubicle / space to put the bait. Trigger the cage door lock in the form of a piece of board connected to a rope or wire. This model utilizes careless behavior (grusa-grusu) when walking. If the board is stepped on, the wire / rope will open the entrance retaining latch, so the door will automatically close.

Second, by using a trap in the form of a rope. A rope is tied to a branch strong enough to withstand the weight of the fork. The branches are drawn so that they are curved, and the free end of the rope is designed to be a trap. Same with the first way, this method also uses bait. Right under the bait, a lasso rope is ready to ensnare the mongoose. If the entangled is the foot, then garangan will be caught alive. But if the entangled is the neck, garangan can be threatened to die in a matter of counts
