Using it for MTBO courses in the covid restricted world. Good website for designing courses, and good app functionality. GPS issues are unavoidable in the world of phones, so use the QR codes for competition, but nice to have the option of the 2 different approaches to control placement.

Enjoyed a competition/training using this app a lot! So thanks for creating it. However sometimes it had problems reading the QR codes when the paper on which the code was printed was just a little little bent. Maybe consider more error-tolerant code type?

On a course with 13 controls, the app worked fine until control 12. For some reason it reset, and offered only to start a new course. The course I was on was there in the Results tab, showing as "Incomplete". My biggest frustration is that there is no way to restart that course, to complete it. I wish the app hadn't stopped, but I understand apps can hit unexpected errors. But what is really necessary is that there be a way to restart the app and restart the course you were in the midst of.

New version is excellent! Looks very professional, and is a big step up from the previous. I am the main e-services admin for the Florida Orienteering Club (FLO), and we are now using iO for all our self-service courses that we're putting up during the Coronapocalypse when we aren't allowed to have in-person events. Highly recommend it.

Great app! Very easy to use. There's practically no learning curve, just scan and go (which is great since you're on the run!)

Could not use any other things on my phone while using the app. Had to stop running the program to even make a phone call.

About this app

A brand new dashboard serves the new version of the app. Please note: The full website only works on a computer or laptop, as you need a wide screen to look at the maps and create courses. On the mobile website most functions are turned off as you need a wide screen to design courses visually.

In addition to normal 'checkpoints,' we have now added 'breakpoints' which pause the clock during an event. These allow safety breaks, for example, to allow for an untimed road crossing. They can be used in other ways, for example, to create a break for a food stop or a kit check.

Warnings can be turned on or off. The warnings give users feedback if they go to a checkpoint out of order. Great for beginners and helping users, but not needed in proper competitions.

Results can be uploaded to the website more reliably and can then be viewed easily on the app or on the website.

Sub-accounts can be created and linked to the main account. We only need basic info for a sub-account, making them great for schools, families or groups where one person manages the users.

Courses can be copied- Make a large, private event containing all your checkpoints, then copy this course multiple times to create individual courses from this master course. Delete the controls you will not need and sort the remaining controls into the correct order.

The basic app still works well offline - you don't need any mobile signal at the event centre for the app to work as a timing device, but more features are available in areas with good mobile coverage.

New features

Update to sensing to improve background timing.
