You have to forget all other WiFi connections and turn off mobile data to connect. Should be automatic. This is on android 9

If you're having connection issues make sure your phone's Wi-Fi is turned on. May seem intuitive to some, but bizarrely this isn't listed in the list of potential problems. Wi-Fi range is poor but I'm going to see if I can extend the range with a Wi-Fi extender so it works from the living room.

Just like everyone else writing a review here, I cant get the App to register with the car. My phone connects to the car wifi ok, but the app just wont connect so I know its not my phone. My car was upgraded last week during the service and had the wifi recall done. Now I cant connect! I have the 14 digit password and using the PHEV 1 app as shown in the instructions. Just found out how to set the defrost timer manually using the car internal screen, even thats not intuitive!

If you are having issues registering or getting the app to connect, turn off your phone's mobile data connection and leave WiFi on. This should allow app to communicate. Mitsubishi could fix this by forcing app to use wifi/ignore mobile data. It's a solution used by some other devices that create a direct WiFi link. Seems the phone tries to use mobile data even if smart connection is turned off.

This app used to be so good. Since the WiFi was updated by the dealer mine or my wife's phone won't connect. Previously we had no issues. Even the dealer can't get it to work. I used to use the app a lot, especially on freezing morning when I could defrost the car from the house then just get in it and drive to work. This was all part of the fun of owning the car. Three other people at work are all having the same issue so its obviously the update. Come on Mitsubishi. From the world's first plug in SUV, I'd expect a lot more. Sort it out.
