The Indian men's cricket team, also known as Team India or Men in Blue, is a Full Member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) and has Test, One-Day International (ODI), and Twenty20 International (T20I) status.Cricket was introduced to India by the British in the early 1700s, with the first match taking place in 1721. The Oriental Cricket Club was founded by the Parsi community in Bombay in 1848, making it the first cricket club founded by Indians.

At the R Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo, the Men in Blue will play three ODIs and three T20Is against the hosts. On July 13, 16, and 18, the ODIs will be played, while the T20Is will be played on July 21, 23, and 25. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's most recent T20I assignment was a three-match away series against the West Indies in March. The Windies won the first and third Twenty20 Internationals by a margin of four and three wickets, respectively. The second match was won by the Lankans by a score of 43 runs. They did, however, lose the series after dropping the last two games.

Both sides will attempt different combinations to find the perfect match ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup.
