About this app

Nusaned is a humanitarian, community-based and volunteer organization. We believe that the power to create change comes from working collaboratively.

Nusaned does not engage in any political activity, and remains at equal distance from all religions. We support communities based on a non-biased, egalitarian and value-based needs assessment process.

We are constantly working on coming up with creative ideas of how to help the affected communities, and are looking for partnerships with organizations who share similar core values as ours; sustainability, accountability and transparency, diversity and inclusiveness, compassion and integrity, and collaboration.

Our Vision
Our vision is to empower the marginalized Lebanese communities, throughout Lebanon, to live sustainably.

Our Mission
Our mission is to support under-served Lebanese communities to become self-sustaining by offering access to food security, building shelter and providing ongoing opportunities for productive economies. We do this through innovative and effective partnerships with communities as well as locally engaged, international organizations and donors.

Our Programs
Roofs That Shield
At Nusaned, we focus on providing the basic human right for shelter so that individuals and families have the opportunity to have a place to live in that protects their health, nurtures their wellbeing and fosters an environment of security, stability and opportunity for self-development and economic growth.

Beyond rehabilitating existing houses, we ultimately aim to design typologies as well as fund the construction of new houses and community spaces, by using sustainable building technologies and relying on principles of a circular economy.

Crops That Yield
Nusaned’s focus is also to support communities in achieving food security based on sustainable approaches. The program is implemented at both the household level and through larger scale implementation with more ambitious rural economic development targets. We provide communities with technical support and advice, delivering the means and resources to develop tailor-made solutions that ensure food self-sufficiency.

In developing and planning our projects, our ambition is to explore potential synergies among the various projects implemented in line with concepts of a circular flow model. As such, by-products from one process will be used as input in another one.

Goods in Need
We focus on building self-sustained communities, while maintaining flexibility and expanding to address a variety of needs as they arise, especially in times of crisis. Reaching out to those that need it most, we guide individuals and families through the initial steps in resisting and overcoming poverty, while encouraging a culture of sharing and community support to create a long-lasting network of strength.

Nusaned’s long-term ambition is to gradually move away from an aid provider to supporting micro-enterprise initiatives. We are working together with affected communities, our network of 200 volunteers and 20 local NGO partners to come up with creative ideas to always support all Lebanese communities in need.
