Doesn't respond 90 percent of the time. Embarrassing to have these issues when clients are paying a lot of money for this system.

Just tried to use the app to test a client's lighting... Wow, what a mess. This used to be a pretty good app, now it's completely hopeless. If there is some button I'm not seeing I'll update this review, otherwise, this is an amazing step backwards.

One of the most unfriendliest and useless app I have ever used. Their developers are probably high school dropoffs.

I just downloaded the latest version. I have dozens of lights over two acres with three controllers each with Cat5 running to them since I don't have WiFi everywhere. When I installed the lights five years ago, one of the reasons I chose this system was the app and the IP interface. I've been patiently waiting for five years to get an app that can simply replicate what is on the controller, specifically the "Program" option on the controller. All I want is an app that gives me the same interface as the controller so I don't have to stand outside in the heat, cold, bugs, rain, whatever when I want to change the program. I don't even need an app, just let me use a browser from my PC and enter the IP address of the controller to get a web interface. That works now, but there's no real functionality. Also, the themes, groups, and colors on the phone app have nothing to do with the controllers' themes, groups, and colors. What good is that? Each time I start the app, it should bring the controllers program and data down to the app, changes can be made, then saved back to the controller. That's basic. I imagine someone's nephew in high school was a computer whiz some years back and they hired him to write an app. Well, he wrote an app, but it's too bad no one bothered to think about why or how people would use the app so they would have a good design and usable program. Now they're stuck with that architecture and they have a completely unusable app and design. Just think about this simple scenario: I have a sophisticated lighting system in 2020 with all controllers on a network with a "mature" app and using the app, I can't program my lights to come on at sunset and turn off at midnight. I could do that on the controller in two minutes. Doing it on the app is impossible. Please open your controller interface to the public and let the public create programs. You'd end up with a great program, and increased sales by having an open system.

The lights are great. But, the app is a steaming pile of poo ... It's actually remarkable. How do you even manage to write such a bad app? I'd delete it in a heartbeat if it wasn't needed to control the lights. Here are some of the problems: * buttons are to be hand drawn rather than using actual controls. The touch sensitive target is not aligned with the button as drawn. When you want to push a button, you have to just push randomly all around it in hopes you'll eventually get the target. * state isn't managed: if you make a change in a group or theme and then go back to the previous screen, the change may or may not show. Then you then go back to the theme (of course after trying presses all over the place to get to the edit screen) only to see that your change was made. It just wasn't showing in the previous screen. * loses connection to controller every few minutes. Only solution I've found is to force exit the app and then restart -- that usually finds the controller again. * missing functionality: there's lots of things that can only be done from the physical controller and not from the app. E.g., set a trigger based on sunset. Define a color wheel. It sucks.

Although I was able to connect to the Luxor wireless network, I was unable to get the Luxor app to connect to the controller using my Google Pixel 2 phone. I was able to get the app to connect to the controller using an older Samsung Galaxy S7, however. My partner and I have different phones, so it's a problem that only one of the phones will connect. Also, even if you get the app to work, you can't set up time schedules for when your lights come on and off. To do that you have to return to the controller and manually set it up. It's a cumbersome and tedious process. The controller screen is difficult to read in day light. Also, you need to have the controller mounted where it can be easily access. This system was expensive. I would not buy this controller again.
