The app is very slow, most of the time I don't feel like opening it, which isba shame as the content is actually useful. For a thing that is supposed to help with mental well-being, I expect a more seamless experience. You don't want to annoy someone who is already down. The UI experience needs some thought and improvement. The content so far seems good though. I can see some would argue that the app will teach me to deal with my reaction to the slow app and bad experience better. :)

Gave 5 stars due to some unfair reviews posted but the app seems a little juvenile for me and at the end of the day, it's still just a CBT course. You really need the will power for this to work. Life is pointless and no amount therapy will ever change that. Good luck to the team running it though, I applaud you all for trying.

Thoughtfully created and designed, the Thrive app really stands out as a mental health companion. I particularly appreciate the in-app games and the messages function. Absolutely recommended!

Don't expect support in here. They got in touch after I completed a survey and turns out I required help. They asked for my availability and once I had told them they ignored me for over 24 hours despite showing active online. A day later, they don't have any appointments for when I was available and the old messages (1 day old) were already deleted. Avoid.

Self help that really works. Should be available on NHS though!

On starting, it gave an countdown clock with no explanation so just had to sit and wait. When something happened, it was unclear what they wanted me to do. With trial and error, I then worked it out and was able to.complete 5 exercises (despite the ever increasing countdown clock before starting an exercise). However, on the last 2 exercises, all I got was the countdown clock and no actual exercise, yet once the clock finished it said I completed the exercise. All it did was cause me stress.

About this app

*The app is part of a suite of services and is offered in partnership with companies, charities, insurers and other organisations. The app is free to use but you will need a code from one of the organisations we partner with to access the correct content and services.*

Thrive: Mental Wellbeing is an evidence-based app to prevent and manage stress, anxiety, and related conditions. Developed in the UK by specialists with many years of clinical experience, the app uses easy to learn clinically proven techniques to help you live a happier, more relaxed, stress-free life.

The app helps you monitor your mood and teaches you relaxation techniques such as meditation and deep muscle relaxation that with practice have shown to help people cope better with stressful situations. It also has a 'thought trainer' programme based on cognitive behavioural therapy to help you manage those negative thoughts. With no rules to use the app, you are free to jump in for 3 minutes to relax before a stressful situation or use more regularly to improve resilience and keep stress under control.

How do we know it works?

We have thousands of users worldwide. We are not trying to reinvent the wheel - we use techniques that have been practised in hospitals and clinics for years, but in a fun, game-based format. We have a research programme in partnership with the University of Roehampton focused on continuously improving engagement and efficacy.

Monitor your emotions

Using our Mood Meter you have a confidential platform to track your mood, the emotions you feel, and the situation you were in. We then help you to reframe this, thinking positively about a certain aspect of the situation and reminding you what you did on a specific day to make you feel good. By remembering what we can change rather than what we can not, we can help ourselves to control our emotional state and live happier lives!

Personalised messages, games, and more!

With our message in a bottle and wise words sessions, there are plenty of ways to interact and have fun with our app. Below are some more reasons why thousands of people are feeling the benefits of our app:

- On the go: Proven therapeutic techniques available in your hands whenever you want them.
- Easy to do: In your own time, at your own pace, with an interactive guide to help you along your journey!
- Efficient: Improve your well-being, whether already stressed or anxious or simply for prevention and resilience.
- Confidential: Away from stigma or judgement, and usually accessed in a quiet place, in your own time, completely anonymously!

Thrive is free for our users but it is provided alongside other services beyond the app itself. This means that your charity, insurer, company or other organisation you may belong to has to sign up in order for us to provide the service. If you are not sure how to sign up to Thrive please get in touch with your organisation directly.

New features

We’re delighted that this update brings a number of new shortcuts to improve our user experience. Users can now sign up to take part in Thrive’s research in the Activities tab, find links to legal and financial advice in the support menu and disable end-of-session sound alerts to enhance their experience.
