About this app

A Copa Sul-Americana de 2017, será a 16ª edição da competição de futebol realizada anualmente pela Confederação Sul-Americana de Futebol. Participarão clubes das dez associações sul-americanas.

O clube campeão entrará diretamente na fase de grupos da Copa Libertadores da América de 2018. Além disso, disputará a Recopa Sul-Americana, a Copa Suruga Bank e a Supercopa Euroamericana do ano seguinte. Ao contrário dos anos anteriores o campeão atual não disputará mais a competição a partir desta edição, a não ser que sua classificação se dê pelo resultado de sua participação na Copa Libertadores.

O torneio foi expandido de 47 para 54 equipes, sendo que 44 delas entram na primeira fase. As dez equipes restantes virão transferidas da Copa Libertadores de 2017 (dois eliminados na terceira fase preliminar e os oito que terminarem em terceiro lugar na fase de grupos) e entram na segunda fase. Anteriormente uma mesma equipe poderia se classificar para a Copa Libertadores e a Copa Sul-Americana no mesmo ano em algumas federações, mas as competições ocorriam em semestres distintos.
