About this app

Haunted Alton...History haunts us, and it is definitely haunting Alton, Illinois, "One of the Most Haunted Small Towns in America."

A sordid past of murder, war, death and destruction has led to Alton’s haunted present. Through the years, many travelers have investigated and inquired about the unexplained happenings and psychic phenomena found throughout Alton. Several locations that are noted to be extremely haunted, including the infamous McPike Mansion and Milton School, have been featured on television shows on the Travel Channel and Syfy Channel.

Many blame limestone rock for so much paranormal activity in Alton. Most of Alton either sits on limestone or has neighborhoods with houses built with pieces of limestone. It is this limestone that is said to retain the psychic residue of events that can still be experienced today.
