We used this app before on our trip to Banff and Jasper National Parks, and again, it was great. The guide always has great stories and insight into the surrounding areas and everything is timed perfectly. We are hikers and our guide had great suggestions for getting out and getting a hike in.

This app lives up to the reviews! We used it for our trip to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and did the Newfound Gap tour; the app worked perfectly despite having no service in the mountains, and it was a fabulous alternative to a guided tour, with informative, fun and funny anecdotes at our own pace and volume! Even my hard-of-hearing father was able to appreciate the guide. Definitely buying Gypsy Guide for our next park trip. Best $10 I spent all year!

We absolutely loved listening to the narrator of the tour through the Great Smoky Mountains. Everything the previous 5 star reviewers said is exactly how we feel about the Gypsy Guide so there's no need to repeat. Word for word! Wonderful, a great spend!

Great app. Wouldn't visit a national park without it. Puts a tour guide in your car. Always the best info and suggestions.

Exceeded my expectations. I was amazed at the timing of comments. Drove from Gatlinburg to Cherokee and back and the comments were different. For the big sites, they did not play a repeat of what they said on the way down. I will use this again kid get older and look to see if they have an app for a future destination.

This was simply amazing. Took a day trip up from Atlanta and this guided tour was fantastic. The narrator was funny, the content very interesting, and the guidance was flawless. Saw many things I would never have known about. I can't wait to do another. Worth every cent!!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Enjoy commentary through all the best-loved parts of the National Park. Whether we are exploring the magnificent elevated viewpoints along Newfound Gap Road or the historic and scenic drive of Cades Cove and Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail, the tour will make sure you hear about all the best places to see and stop, so you won't miss a thing.

Newfound Gap Road connects the bustling town of Gatlinburg, TN to Cherokee, NC. Along the drive there are many stunning viewpoints and opportunities to see the famous smoky effect as clouds and fog rise from the valleys. Along this drive, we visit Clingmans Dome, the highest peak in the park and even take the walk onto the elevated tower from which 7 states can be seen on a clear day.

Cades Cove sits in an idyllic setting, that attracted the Native American people and then the first of the European settlers. On this drive we will enjoy superb scenery and visit historic cabins, churches, barns and mills. And be on the lookout to spot some of the Great Smoky Mountain's black bear population, as well as deer, elk and even wild turkeys.

Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail leaves right from downtown Gatlinburg but quickly becomes a stunning, peaceful forested drive, with a couple hours worth of scenic views and old cabins and barns, and some of the Great Smoky Mountains best waterfalls.

The commentary highlights all of the best viewpoints and has information on many of the popular hiking trails you may choose to explore. And the region has a rich collection of stories of characters who framed the history, the native Americans who came before them, as well as providing background of the amazing natural wonders.

WHAT YOU’LL SEE:

Some of the highlights along the route include;

• Clingmans Dome
• Newfound Gap
• Cades Cove
• Roaring Fork Motor Nature Trail
• Laurel Falls
• Morton Tunnel
• Cable Mill
• The Sinks
• John Oliver Place
• Chimney Tops
• Sugarlands
• Mingus Mill
• Gatlinburg
• Cherokee
• And many more scenic lookouts and photo opportunities

BATTERY USAGE:
++ Continued use of GPS/Location Services in the background increases battery usage. We strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. Avoid using a direct connection to the USB port of a rental vehicle.

DOWNLOADING:
The apps are larger in size in order to work offline. You must be on wifi to download as the store may block the download over cellular networks.
