We started on Big Island, then Maui, then Oahu. Comparing the 3 version this was the weakest. I didn't feel like the turn off directions were as spot on and it led to some misturns and overall it was the least enjoyable. That being said, it was still a good app to have and if someone was just visiting Oahu, I would definitely recommend it. But if you were doing the islands like we did, I would say it's not as worth it. 1 thing I truly wish for is if I could type in or search by a destination.

Fantastic!!! Don't leave home without it. Wife and I were there for a week celebrating 50 Anniversary and once I started this app, I made sure it was the first thing I turned on in the car. Spent a week on Maui too and used that app also. So much information that you may miss and even on the stretches of highway that have nothing special, the app tells you of history in the area. No need to tell it where you are going as it lets you know the options as you are driving. Love the whole experience.

This is an excellent, almost amazing app. The guide's voice is perfect, we learned interesting things, and of course if we didn't feel like being assisted we could just turn it off. I would highly recommend this and actually prefer this to all but the best in-person your guides. Have used this one and the one for the Big Island, which is also excellent.

Did the Oahu Circle Island Tour today....this was such a great and informative app at a fraction of the price that you would pay on a guided tour. Directions fairly clear to follow. So glad I could take my time at the stops I wanted or pass by ones I didnt. I also feel like this app may have included a couple of hidden gems that wouldn't otherwise be accessible on a commercial tour. If I visit any of the other Hawaiian islands, I will definitely look up this app!

Overall a good app. The commentary is very useful and helpful. The reason for the 3 stars is that not all "pay for" attractions are identified and the navigational directions are a little hit and miss. i didnt like the way the nareator would say there is a turn up ahead and then launch into a monolgue about the attraction and neglect to give an update on the actual turn. Had to keep Google maps running on a second phone to ensure we made the turns.

For our 4 island trip to Hawaii we bought and used both Gypsy Guide and the "other guys" (the ones with thumb and little finger extended). We found the Gypsy Guide the better of the two for two main reasons. 1. It worked. We had problems downloading and executing the other guys. At times the other one "jumped" locations, especially if the commentary was at a tight turn. And in one case, we gave up trying to download the other guy and bought Gypsy guide and downloaded it on the move! 2. We (four of us in our 60's) liked the voice on GyPSy guide the best. The other guy wanted to jump into "surfer" talk too many times. This is purely a taste thing. Though the other one made it easier to look ahead on the map and actually see the text of what the narrator was speaking. Gypsy guide had a problem of always wanting to return to center your location on the map... so much so that it was very hard, to almost impossible to look ahead on the map. And though there may have been a way to see the text... it wasn't obvious enough to find it on the go.
