Just what I was looking for. Nothing but speed and altitude. The only other thing that would be nice is a button to stop the GPS lock so my phone stops tracking GPS when I'm done, but that can be worked around by just closing the app.

I was curious one day and turned it on inside an airplane (airplane mode was on but it still worked). Clocked it at 590mph! That's pretty darn cool if you ask me!

Looks like a nice app, but white is too harsh for those of us with messed up eyes. White eats phone batteries faster too. Color options would be cool.

It is useful for all drivers that want to see the real speed of the car ! Don't be fooled by the odometers from car ! Sometimes they may show more kilometers / miles than you have !

I will tell you a story about this. I'm from Romania and I have a german car. I was in vacantion to Germany, last year. On the highway, I've seen something strange. The speed limit was 130 km/h, on my odometer I had 130km/h, but everyone had overcome me by car. I didn't understand why this happened. Why they overcome me, but they are not caught by the police ? Hmm, something was strange here. I crossed Hungary, then Austria. In Germany, I've used the gps application, to reach my destination.

Using the gps application, I've seen something strange. The speed from gps was lower than the speed my car indicates. So, in that moment, I decided to do a simple application that shows you the real speed using gps sensor from your phone and nothing more.

So, here I am. I present you the GPS Speedometer by Gorilaalex.
