About this app

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED KODI AND LOCALCAST BEFORE USING THIS WIDGET APP!!!!

If the Toggle State toast messages aren't appearing when entering the Kodi app, please try taking KCT out of Battery Optimization Mode (screenshots in play store description - red text-). KCT will not adversely affect your battery life.

So you've heard that Kodi can play nice with Chromecast now, but there's this file that you have to put in a hidden folder, and once it's there, you can't watch video on your device without deleting it!

Sounds like a pain to switch from Chromecast to Device Screen and back again? Well no need to fret! Kodi Cast Toggle is here! Just download this widget (which is really just a toggling widget - no app interface), and tap the widget whenever you want to change from casting videos to your Chromecast or watch them on your device! Simple as that!

You will have to have Kodi and LocalCast installed already, and everytime you toggle Kodi Cast Toggle, you'll need to start Kodi over again. If you need help with the setup, just google "Kodi on Chromecast".

Also, if you like one of your already downloaded 3rd party media players better than the native Kodi player, you now have the option to select it! Choose from MXPlayer, BSPlayer, Rock Player and more! Don't see your favorite media player in the list? Send me an email and I'll see about including it in an update!

Permission Details:

Device and App history - to detect when Kodi opens to flash what state Kodi Cast Toggle is in.

Photos/Media Files - to add and delete the file that controls where to display content (chromecast or device screen).

Run at Startup - autostart, no need to tap the app icon to get it to work after a reboot.

NOTE: I am in no way affiliated with Kodi, Chromecast, Google, or any content viewed. I am also NOT the author of the file that allows Kodi to Chromecast to your tv. This is just a quick shortcut I made to allow me to be able to toggle between watching content through Kodi on my device screen or on my TV via a Chromecast. Nothing more, nothing less. Use at your own discretion.
