About this app

compactIMG uses lossy compression techniques to reduce the file size of your photos. By selectively decreasing the number of colors in the image, fewer bytes are required to store the data. The effect is nearly invisible but it makes a very large difference in file size! If you want to quickly reduce the file size of your images , compactIMG is a perfect choice.

• Compress multiple images of type JPEG/JPG|PNG|WebP|HEIC to a specific image quality (* Batch compress (multiple photos compress) )
• Resize multiple images of type JPEG/JPG|PNG|WebP|HEIC to your chosen dimensions
• Convert images of type PNG|WebP|HEIC to JPG with more or less the same image quality
• Enter a link pointing to a photo to get a compressed or resized version of it to your device
• Remove EXIF metadata from photos to further reduce file size
• All operations related to compressing, resizing, and deletion of EXIF metadata is done on the device itself; No images are sent over the internet in any format whatsoever by the app
• Original pictures are not affected, compressed pictures are automatically saved in the app's directory in a folder conveniently named as 'Result Folder'

Compressing images helps you compress photos before sharing photos with your friends via social networks, email services, messaging services. For example when you send an e-mail with attached photos, you will often find that the e-mail exceeds the message size limit. For example, if your email account allows you to send messages up to 5 megabytes (MB) and you include just two pictures in the attachment (Average size of photos taken by a modern day smartphone or tablet camera are about 5 or 8 MB), you will probably exceed the maximum message size. In this case, compactIMG comes in handy, simply compress pictures before composing the e-mail and then attach much smaller photos.
