Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing GADIP3 on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.

About this app

The GADIP3 mobile application for Android devices has been developed by the team "O ThiSaVRoS", 1st prize winner of the Galileo App Competition 2018/2019 organized by the European Space Agency, in collaboration with the European Commission, Google and the European GNSS Agency.

The GADIP3 app is capable of performing GNSS-based real-time positioning in a single or dual-frequency mode, as well as considering GPS-only, Galileo-only and GPS+Galileo system configurations, due to its modularity. As a consequence of GADIP3 logging capabilities, access to raw data is made possible for post-processing validations, as well as for the availability of both stand-alone Android solution (‘FINE’) and positioning results from the GADIP3 engine within the NMEA format.

Two types of users are defined: a Common User profile for achieving standard positioning solutions, and an Advanced User profile for much more comprehensive use of any GNSS-related information available within the Android Programming Interface (API). For better user experience, it is recommended to use version Android 9.0 (API 28) or later.
