Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing G4S SMARTalarm on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

The app does not allow motion sensors with video capability to be selected (under 'motion detection' section) when setting up a smart rule. So, good luck setting up smart rule if you have motion sensors with video at home which in my case is sadly true. I had informed this to the development team months ago, yet no updates on this. They kept beating around the bush telling that they purposely disabled this feature as it would drain battery of the device!! What??? I am paying for this! And as per the contract, I am responsible for changing batteries, so why should G4S care at all? Extremely annoyed because of this. Another annoying thing is, you have to call up G4S customer service to set up / make changes to devices under Day/Night mode. And the reason they gave here for this was, that they don't want people (elderly people) to accidentally make mistake of removing a device from the modes it has been assigned to. Would love to give the app 5 star if at least the 1st issue I mentioned is fixed.

Appen fryser hvis den har kørt i baggrunden og en anden i familien har tilsluttet/frakoblet alarmen. Således viser min app forkert status. Jeg kom derfor til at trykke på "frakobel" selvom den allerede var frakoblet men appen viste forkert state. Det resulterede i at alarmen gik igang med at tilkoble, fordi knappen for tilslut/frakoble sidder samme sted i appen alt efter hvilken state den er i. Det er ikke Super optimalt. Jeg er på den nyeste Android version på en "One plus 2"

Dette system er ikke sikkert. Der bliver ikke givet en advarsel hvis nogen prøver at tilgå din konto eller en ny enhed logger ind på din konto. Jeg har lige logget ind på mine forældres konto. Det var kun lykkedes dem at skifte password på den ene bruge. En kæmpe fejl at nye brugere ikke er tvunget til at skifte password, og at der ikke sendes mail om muligt misbrug af konto.

Har haft app'en i 3 år nu, og den virker stadig ikke som den skal. Desuden har de endnu ikke fået gjort sådan at du selv kan indstille til og frakobling til hver enkelt enhed, selvom det har været meningen i over 3 år.....tag jer lidt sammen
