A really good app, the £5 per year for access to OS (UK) maps is well worth the minimal cost. Have also used it in Italy and Austria with free maps. It is quite a sophisticated app and takes some effort to understand some of the intricacies but it is well worth the effort.

top app for hunters and hikers etc.. i have used this app for a few years now and its my go to gps for when im out in the bush. Has never let me down. Very reliable. An update to 3D topo map would be a good addition. As would the ability to show a friends location on your map as a good safety measure. If thats even possible.

Don't waste your money. My Trails is supposed to be offline Topo trail maps however... I had to buy the app to download maps. After I paid for it I tried to download maps. The offline maps are virtually impossible to download. It uses sectors instead of states. I tried to download an area about the size of Missouri & Arkansas. It said it was about 86,000,000 sectors and would take about 888 days to download. I thought that can't be so and let it download for 3 days. Apparently it was serious about the 888 days. I never got the maps downloaded and can't get a refund. Guess I should have used the money to light a fire in the fireplace. It would have been more useful

I've been using this app for a couple of years, and really like it. Statistics are as good as the GPS info you feed it. I do a lot of hiking in dense redwood forests, so the GPS in my phone occasionally misses points. So far, I've only used it in Northern California, which is where I live. Most of the places I hike have no cell coverage, but the downloadable maps keep me hooked up just fine. I find it easier to do the downloads on my computer. The software that does it is not as intuitive as I would like, and took me a while to figure out, but once I did I've been able to grab anything I need.

I love to hike and My Trails is a wonderful app for locating my position on a topo map and for recording my tracks through the woods. I use a Garmin glonass GPS receiver with my smartphone and I have maintained constant contact with the GPS satellites through very heavy canopy. The tech support has always been rapid and extremely helpful.
