There aren't too many Android apps for plant identification, especially if you want something more comprehensive than "100 Favorite Wildflowers". In the past, if you wanted to ID a rare or unusual species, you had to bring a fat heavy book and wade through traditional keys. This one claims to have everything with in Washington with a corolla. That leaves out a lot of plants - conifers, grasses, sedges, rushes, ferns and their allies - but it still leaves 2286 species, over twice as many as any other app. The keys are easy to use and reasonably accurate. For difficult groups (like yellow composites) I have found that I sometimes have to run a plant several times before I get to a confident ID, but it's still easier and quicker than using a traditional key. The photos and attribute lists are great; the descriptions tend to be pretty skimpy. The bottom line is that since I got this app, all the other botany books get left in camp. It lacks some features I would like. You can't give it a list of known plants in a geographic area. You can't record when and where you saw a plant, or make any notes, within the app. There's no online support (e.g. links to Flora of North Amer...
