The best sports news app out there save for one thing: the lag they've either built in or failed to eliminate from their top banner ad, which can frequently lead the user to "accidentally" click on the ad when it pops up right as the user is tapping up high to navigate somewhere else. If it's intentional, it's a little shady; if it's unintentional, it's poor engineering.

Great sports scores+news app. I've been using theScore for a long time, and I think out of all the sports apps out there it has the best layout/UI with good notification options. Main reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that there is no premium, ad free option (either one time payment or subscription). The banner ads inside of the game score pages can be pretty visually distracting; I understand it's not free to run theScore but other sports apps (Sofascore and Fotmob) offer ad-free options.

Scoreboard functionality is good although it is still missing some leagues like NWSL and NCAA outside of basketball and football. The articles are solid but the embedded videos are sometimes a bit buggy. Worst of all is that currently clicking the notifications is like 50-50 of it'll actually take you to the article or video, or otherwise it just straight up doesn't work.

Would rate it higher if I could log in. Went through the signup process, it says something went wrong, so I resubmit. It says I already have an account, so I try to login with the password I just made. It says incorrect password, so I reset the password. Try to log in with the new password, it just keeps saying something went wrong. Still better than ESPN or Fox though. Edit: still no fix to login. Going to keep removing stars until I uninstall if I get no support.

Keeps getting worse. Works when it feels like it.Today it's showing the game I'm interested in to be in the 4th inning. Yahoo sports has it right. The game is actually in the 8th. For the past few weeks, this app won't open the scores or stories. Next, I tried uninstalling and then installing. Didn't help. This app is useless. I have contacted the developer and each time I get the same message "sorry for the problem but we're working on it." No help. In reality, this app deserves no stars.

Nice, clean, functioning app design that just works. I follow the NFL, NHL and occasionally other leagues and this app essentially gives me all the information I need without having to check other apps. I hardly open their own apps anymore because they're just so slow and bloated, especially with slow internet (also missing stats and info that this app has!). I'm sure there are ways to improve this, but the only thing I can think of is maybe a light mode?A separate rookie stats tier as well. 4.7
