Works as it should in terms of check in and notification of contacts - BUT - it does not override the lock screen so the phone has to be unlocked and the app opened. Even then 3 or 4 identical responses are needed to cancel the alarm, which still sounds at least once after responding. Update was promised that solved these issues but hasn't materialised. Sort this out Eyeon!!! UPDATE - promised fix and update never happened. The more I use this app the more irritated I get. Don't bother buying.

This is a fantastic app. Best one I checked out, and I tried quite a few. I liked that you can have multiple checks made throughout the day and up to three contacts can be notified. App even has a false alarm alert to notifify your CONTACTS in case you don't respond quite in time. The customer support is prompt, courteous and super helpful. I felt they really wanted me to understand everything. Pay the $5.00 for a fine app. Steve

This app is doing what I need it to do - I live alone and this app will alert 2 friends if I don't check in each day, which eases some anxiety. So I'm glad I installed it. I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 for three reasons: first, I wish the notification alarm could be adjusted. It's a really abrasive ring tone -- especially if I have my headphones on listening to music on my phone and then this loud ring interrupts. I know it needs to get my attention, but it's really not a pleasant sound, but I don't see any way to choose from my other notification sounds. Even a small menu of alternative alarm options would be great. Also, when I do check in, I alway have to click the "yes" button three or four times for my check-in to register. Kind of annoying. Finally, on several occasions, I've gotten a message that the app can't connect to the server, or I've tried to check in and the app fails to open, and I have to force the app to quit and/or restart my phone. I'm an able-bodied, fairly tech-savvy 52-year-old, but because of these operational glitches, I would hesitate to recommend this app to my elderly parents.

$5 wasted. not intuitive. cannot set custom times, can only select 15 minute increments. no ring tone options. cannot reply to check in by clicking on pull down notification- must open and go into actual app. i am sticking with kitestejng app which had more features, can be used directly from text, and tons other options. kitestring worth 3 bucks a month since the userface is friendly and will encourage me to use it more often.

It works well, just needs a few tweaks, as mentioned in a previous review, being spot on.

About this app

This app was built for anyone living alone. It provides a way to make sure that if you don’t respond, others will be notified. Instead of relying on products that require you to press a button when you need help (think "I've fallen and I can't get up" commercial), isn't it better if someone is notified when you DON'T press a button? Introducing the EyeOn App.

* You can set your own schedule for the app to "check-in". You can set the days of the week, time of day…as many (or as few) as desired. For example, the app can ask if you are ok every hour, only in the mornings/evenings, or every other day.

* You will receive a push notification at the scheduled time(s). This notification will ask if you are ok.

* If you press "OK", then the alert is reset for the next scheduled time.

* If you fail to respond, then the app notifies up to 3 contacts. These contacts are notified by email, text message/SMS, or both.

* The contacts get an email, text message/SMS, or both stating that you have not responded, your last known location (email only), and the battery level of your phone (email only). You can customize the email sent to your contacts to provide specific instructions.

* (Pill) Reminders can also be scheduled. They are just that - a custom reminder. No response is required and we don't notify your contacts if you don't respond to a Reminder.

* Pause feature - you can pause the service for hours, days, or weeks if you don't want to be checked on during a movie, vacation, etc.

When first installing, you will be prompted to complete the names, mobile phone numbers, and emails of the user and for each care provider. Then simply set a schedule for check-in times.

IMPORTANT:

Push Notifications - on the initial setup you will be asked to allow EyeOn App to use Push Notifications. This is mandatory for the app to function.

Location - although this is not mandatory, we can provide your location inside the alert email to your care providers if you do not respond. It will be the location where you were the last time you opened the app. You will need to give EyeOn App permission to use your Location.

Timezones/Time Changes - EyeOn App adjusts for timezones and time changes when the app is opened. If you travel to a different timezone or have a time change, please open the app once for it to automatically correct to the new time.

Cancelation of Service - if you do decide to discontinue use of the service, please simply delete any Notifications you scheduled. If you delete the app without deleting the Notifications, it could take up to 24 hours for your account to be disabled.
