Die App „Der Brecht Weg“ führt zu 8 Stationen im Leben von Bertolt Brecht und zeigt welche besondere Verbindung Brecht zur Stadt Augsburg hat.
Der Dichter und Dramatiker Bert Brecht wurde am 10. Februar 1898 in einem kleinen Handwerkerhaus, unweit des historischen Rathauses, im sogenannten Lechviertel, geboren.

Er verbrachte seine gesamte Kindheit und Jugend in Augsburg. Der erste Weltkrieg zwang ihn zum Notabitur. Anschließend immatrikulierte er sich an der Universität München für Medizin und Naturwissenschaften. Seine Leidenschaft galt jedoch immer der Literatur. Brecht zählt, neben Thomas Mann und Franz Kafka, zu den meistgelesenen deutschen Schriftstellern des 20. Jahrhunderts. Einige der bekanntesten Gedichte Brechts entstanden in seiner Augsburger Zeit.

Sein literarisches Erbe umfasst 2300 Gedichte, 200 Erzählungen, 48 Theaterstücke, zahlreiche philosophische und theoretische Abhandlungen, Briefe und Drehbücher. Kurzweilige Videos mit mehreren Protagonisten, ergänzt durch historische Bilder, informieren an den einzelnen Stationen zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten und dem Bezug zu Bert Brecht.

Die Tour durch Augsburg beginnt auf dem Rathausplatz, wo Bert Brecht „höchstpersönlich“ die Gäste begrüßt. Weitere Stationen sind „Gablers Taverne“, die Barfüßer Kirche, Brechts Geburtshaus, ein Abstecher in die Welt des Theaters, das Haus „Bei den 7 Kindeln“, Brecht und seine Frauen sowie ein Besuch beim Elternhaus Nummer 3 und der nahegelegenen Augsburger Kahnfahrt.
