Tells me to update - I go to the PlayStore - options are "open" and "uninstall" - I press "open" ... it opens ... and tells me to update! .... Going round in circles - not a good image for an airline!

Just some advice if your system is going to force a password change you should allow the old password to actually log on to the account first. That way users can still check their email and other information to make sure it's correct. That's the way that most banks and other systems that use logic do it. Otherwise you're just creating a reason for people to flood calls to the call center.
