The Fast Metabolism Diet is aimed at reviving your metabolism so you can consume food — possibly tons of food — and still lose weight. Inventor of the diet, nutritionist and health expert Haylie Pomroy, says that in 28 days you can consume three full meals a day and two snacks, and lose up to 20 pounds.

The Fast Metabolism Diet does not allow you to log your calories or count fat or carbs. However, it does require that you adhere to the schedule with the approved foods and strictly avoid other foods. This part of the diet can pose a challenge as some of the foods not permitted are extremely popular (including wheat and dairy products) .

How It Works
The Fast Metabolism Diet has three phases, each of which has its own focus and distinct food lists. The phases rotate each week, and then repeat three times for four weeks in total:
Phase 1 (days one and two) is to "unwind stress and calm the adrenals."
Phase 2 (days three and four) is to "unlock stored fat and build muscle."
Phase 3 (days five, six, and seven) is to "unleash the burn," and focuses on your hormones, heart, and "heat."

According to Pomroy, each step helps the body recover from the last step and prepare for the next phase is crucial for the success of the diet to follow the food and exercise plan outlined in the three phases of the blueprint.

After you have completed one week and all three stages, you can replicate the diet as many times as you want before you get the results that you want.
