About this app

For the first-time experienced hikers walked through the footpaths of the Ancient Egnatia Odos and imprinted the largest hiking trail in Greece with a total length of 437.75 km.

The route starts from Ofrinio of Kavala, ends at Ferres of Evros and consists of 13 individual walking routes, covering all categories of hikers, both beginners and very experienced.

The application includes annotation of the points of interest of the Ancient Egnatia Odos on pre-installed maps, without the need of Internet or data.

Starting the application, the pre-installed map is displayed to the user, and using the GPS (satellite positioning service - free of charge), the paths that have been captured across the area and the exact location where the user is located are displayed.

The application enables the user to choose which path to be displayed and if he / she wants he / she can follow it.

Once the user chooses to walk on a path, detailed navigation instructions are shown on the screen to guide him / her step by step to follow the path accurately.

Also during hiking on each path, there are signs of interest (archaeological sites, nature monuments, religious monuments, sightseeing, viewing spots, etc.), with all the necessary information (text, photo) if the user chooses to display them.
