Audio doesn't alternate? I thought the point of EMDR was to go back and forth between the right and left sides. The audio seems to be both sides at the same time.

I've been trying to find a way to do breathing with bilateral haptic feedback to enhance and support the emdr work I do each week, without spending a fortune on a kit. I don't know why your app didn't show up until today, but I'm beyond thrilled that it did. I plan on bringing it with me to my next session, to see if I can get any insights on what speed/duration has been most relaxing for me. You truly made my day.

About this app

EMDR TriSense™ is an app providing bilateral desensitization stimulus using three modalities. It assists an EMDR therapy session performed by a professional psychotherapist. It can also be used for general relaxation or anxiety reduction.

Use any combination for stimuli:

● Audio (configurable stereo sound)
● Vibration (haptic stimulus)
● Visuals tracking (eye movement)

For best effects, use two smartphones (may be different type). Two handsets are required to use visual and haptic stimulus. Audio stimulus is available in both single and dual handset modes.

Other salient features:

● Adjustable cycle speed, from 1 second (0.5 s per side) to 8 seconds
● Support for Bluetooth headphones – finally no more wires!
● Sounds with brainwave entrainment frequencies (optional)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a safe psychotherapeutic technique that can help overcome anxiety, stress, and traumas. By applying the EMDR psychotherapy, a person can:

● Decrease effect of disturbing memories
● Decrease post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptoms
● Decrease phobia and panic disorder symptoms

The EMDR protocol includes desensitization of negative emotions associated with painful memories, and consequently reprocessing those memories from a current, healthier perspective. The desensitization effect is achieved by appropriate dual attention stimulation of the left and right brain hemispheres. Under proper conditions, reprocessing happens naturally, using innate healing capacities of the brain. Eye movement is one of the ways to trigger desensitization and reprocessing, not unlike the process happening during a dreamful sleep, in the Rapid Eye Movement (REM) phase.
