About this app

Eindhoven is working on its future. And there’s a lot going on, an awful lot. Economically, things are going well in the Netherlands and even better in Eindhoven. One of the consequences of that is that new buildings will be erected in a number of important sites in Eindhoven city centre.

See for yourself during Dutch Design Week
So what do the future and those buildings look like? Find out for yourself during Dutch Design Week 2018, on Stadhuisplein! And talking about the future: you can do that in augmented reality (AR). Eindhoven wouldn’t be Eindhoven if you couldn’t look at the latest developments for Eindhoven city centre in an innovative way. And Eindhoven municipality finds this so important that they were only too happy to contribute to the realisation of this augmented reality.

Time machine
Watch as the city virtually rises up around you and walk through this Eindhoven of the future. We haven’t actually come up with a time machine, but this comes pretty close: you can travel to five different time layers in Eindhoven’s future! Join in and think about how you expect it to look then!

Look at it all over again at home?
Would you like to have another look at home, in your own time? Want to take this DDW experience home with you? You can! Take the folder with you and scan it at home. This will allow you to view Eindhoven’s city centre of the future in augmented reality, in your own home.

Join in!
Another thing you can do: get a photo of yourself with one of the buildings of the future in Eindhoven! Take a selfie next to, on top of, underneath or behind one of those buildings or however you choose, in augmented reality. Use your imagination and share the photo on social media. Use #future040 We can’t wait to see it!
