The guy moonwalks a lot and walks around so erratically it's distracting. He should just walk in a straight line and only turn occasionally, as if he were going somewhere.

Great job guy, i like it. Still missing some elements. You've of course are aware as you've made note of those already. To everyone cussing and bitching so vehemently: shut up or go make your own live rpg wallpaper. You have no room to complain unless you can do better.

...a new phone and OS. Doesn't work like it used too. Would love to see an update to support Jellybean. It won't even load. Won't purchase full version until it is fully supported.

This is a great live wallpaper that does exactly as promised. With it constantly running I was afraid that it would drain my battery, but it seems to have no effect at all.

The character's walking animation is up, down, left, right, while the scenery scrolls on diagonals... Also, sometimes, the animation and the scrolling are completely backwards.

Looks cool but buggy, tapping settings makes it crash, tapping apply makes it crash, when the wallpaper does go on my screen the map is layered over itself and when battles happen the map in the the background and the fight screen is overlapping it, once said fight is done the fight screen is meshed in the background and the text is tiny. Great concept but doesn't work for me unfortunately, LG G3.

About this app

A classic role playing game on your home screen! RPG Live Wallpaper is a homage to classic RPGs I loved in my youth - Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior (now known as Dragon Quest.)

In those great games you had a character that wandered through forests, mountains, deserts, and dungeons to complete an epic quest - all while facing monsters every step of the way.

I wanted to capture that feel in a live wallpaper.

In this RPG, your character wanders over an infinite world battling monsters and leveling up along the way. As he gains levels, he'll encounter new monsters. Each new encounter creates an entry in the bestiary (visible on the settings screen.)

Direct your hero around the map by touching the screen. If left alone, he'll wander about on his own.

If your hero reaches the maximum level, he'll start back over at 1 but the bestiary entries will remain.

SHORT HISTORY EXPOSITION:

When I was little, after constant badgering, my dad drove me 40 minutes to pick up Dragon Warrior for my NES. I remember him cautioning me on the way home, "You'd better not finish this game in one day..." The game was expensive, certainly, and I'd usually finish them quickly and toss them aside. This was different. It had substance.

Since I played it for weeks on end, I had a less difficult time convincing him to buy my second love: Final Fantasy.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT:

If you enjoy this, get the full version! I'd love to expand the world with more characters, shops, dungeons, and interaction.

Thanks and enjoy!

Special thanks to Toriaka for the monster and background illustrations.
