I have just discovered that my message phone numbers in the app have been deleted, I didn't delete them. also now when changing the numbers and for any other function I get directed to my phone's sms system whereas before it was all handled in the app? what has happened? maybe I need to upgrade my alarm systems?

After this update it doesn't work at all on Android 7.0. It opens the messages app but no SMS is sent.

Thank you! It now works on Oreo, but it uses the old style permissions. Please update the app to the latest API level.
