lacks the ability to finely control placement of the tool before starting drawing; something as simple as placing the tip of the tool where you tap would do. (Currently it places the center of the tool where you tap, and the tip about half an inch away) Documentation mentions that you can do several things, but no indication is given as to how to do them; it says you can customize calibration in the settings, but no option for that exists in the settings. It says you can change the grab position of the tool, but doesn't say how. Promising, but not yet very functional.

People, the offset is easy to use & for precision that other apps don't have! Saves images fine! Wish other apps that are loaded with features, had the pressure sensitive feature. Calibration worked fine. Have yet to use it all, but for free it seems great! IGNORE reviews from people who obviously don't get the apps setup. It is for more precise drawing!

There are some really cool features for small device art, but having the draw point being offset is annoying. It turns accuracy into a guesswork. As a passionate hobbyist, and semi professional artist, I can't understand stand who this is targeted towards. It's too complex for casuals, and too wonky for hobbyists.

Tried to calibrate several times, still can't get the pencil to draw a thing, all other functions work. I would be willing that the developer use my device for debugging if needed to make it work as I am looking for a good drawing program, this seems the perfect one!

I've read the instructions and figured out how to do most things. I realize it's goal is to imitate real life drawing on pencil and paper, but I feel that's not always a good thing. One of the many joys I have as an artist using digital mediums, is that it's less taxing at times and makes work more efficient. But just the simple act of erasing lines or anything in this app is really annoying. And that is because it imitates the real thing too well, so you're spending the same amount of time as you would using a real eraser. If that is what you like and what you're looking for, well more power to you. But I like being able to easily disperse with mistakes. And the way the canvas reads your tools just seems off to me, even after calibrating. But really I've just never enjoyed an offset drawing tool. I have no issues with drawing straight with my finger and it dies not get in my way because I've dine it for so long. So having my tool offset like a real pencil or pen is something I actually dint miss, and I prefer the straight contract. So overall I'll just stick with Sketchbook Pro for now I think. This is a very nice detailed app, just not for me. Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb 3.2

If you don't "get it", just move on without the token "you made me feel dumb" one star rating. This is brilliant.

About this app

SMall ARTtools is a new and unique sketch and paint application specially designed for touch sensitive Android™ mobile devices.
It is precise, intuitive and easy to handle.
Precise, because you can see what you draw. Intuitive and easy to handle because you don’t have to spend most of your time navigating inside the various menu elements, you can always stay focused on your virtual canvas.
Unlike most of the other drawing applications, in SMall ARTtools you don’t draw directly on the mobile screen, but the virtual art tool (pencil, airbrush, paintbrush, etc.) helps you being precise with your stroke, and also to change color or the ART tool very fast. Beside your virtual tool multi-purpose little widgets help you to reach the common tasks in a blink, without obscuring the most important thing -> your ART.

New features

- For non-pressure sensitive devices (but for other devices too): Toggle between draw mode and tool positioning mode. While you are drawing or positioning the virtual tool, your other finger (with a single click) can toggle between draw and tool positioning mode.
- Undo/Redo with keyboard keys. Hit key "1" for Undo and key "2" for Redo.
- Donate menu item. (If you would like to support us...)
