This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing Smartdriver on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

Absolutely rubbish

Ridiculously awful. The amount of times needing to uninstall and reinstall as it stops connecting and updating. Cannot wait to switch insurers. Also, do not put the wingman on your windscreen as you will not get it off without solvents and a knife.

It never connects properly and doesn't record journeys properly. Doesnt warn you that you haven't connected so managed to go for weeks without it connecting, causing the insurance company to email me telling me they were cancelling my policy.

Awful, recorded my first ever journey and now won't record anything at all. Haven't done anything differently. Have been waiting for a. All from the telematics team to rectify for one week now but all I seem to be getting is texts messages telling me off for not using it.

Crashes all the time, sometimes doesn't record journeys even though it's connected and messages me every journey that I'm not using the app when I am.. Just a waste of time but I need to use it for my insurance

About this app

Mobile Telematic application for Insurance. If you purchase a Smartdriver motor insurance policy you will need to download and use this App for your policy to remain in force.
Once you have registered the app using your insurance policy details you will be able to:
- See how well you are driving on a journey by journey basis
- Monitor your driving style against; smoothness, speed, and usage
- qualify for a great renewal premium next year if your driving throughout the year is good.
- Connect the Smartdriver app to your car using Bluetooth to ensure every journey is accurately captured.

Note: The app will require you to use your smartphones GPS and keep it running in the background to record all journeys. This can decrease the battery life of your phone. We therefore recommend using an in car charger if you are going on a long journey.
