About this app

The free APP is designed to record travel activities for individuals from invited households who have been provided with a Household ID and have completed the Household Log. If you do not have a Household ID, you can request one through our survey website (www.treasurecoastsurvey.com). The APP uses GPS on your phone to record your travel activities for a weekday as agreed upon by you. At the end of the travel day, it will ask you a few simple questions about your travel. As the APP uses GPS services continuously, it does use additional but moderate battery power. Please make sure your phone is fully charged before you begin to record your trips. A portable battery power bank can be provided to you upon request.

To use the APP, start the APP and then enter your Household ID. You will be asked to enter the Household ID for a second time to verify your ID. You can then select the household member that is corresponding to you from the list of family members provided in your Household Log. Be sure the information about you has been entered correctly. Press “START RECORDING” to begin recording your travel. MyTripDiary will record your travel continuously for 18 hours. After 18 hours, if you have completed all your travel activities for the day, you may choose to end recording by pressing the “END RECORDING” button. If you have not, continue recording until you have completed all your travel activities. After recording, our server will identify the trips you made during the day. You can review the trips and confirm if those were indeed your trips. If they were, please press “PROVIDE DETAILS” to answer a few questions about your trips.

Your travel data combined with your household data provide important information for transportation planning agencies to plan future transportation improvements in your communities. Your data will only be used at the aggregate level and all information is kept strictly confidential according to our Privacy Policy. For more information, please visit our survey website: www.treasurecoastsurvey.com.
