About this app

Centre for Environmental Studies (CES) is an autonomous organization under the Department of Forest and Environment, Government of Odisha. CES undertakes activities to promote environmental awareness in the State. CES also take up projects, conduct training programme, building database etc.

CES is doing various Research Projects under the aegis of Govt. of Odisha & Govt. of India.
CES is the State Nodal Agency for flagship program ‘National Green Corps (NGC)’ of Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India under which 9500 eco-clubs are functioning in the State. Financial support from MoEF&CC is being received for 7500 eco-clubs and for rest 2000 eco-clubs, financial support is being received from the State Government under non-plan budget.
CES is the State Environmental Information System (ENVIS) Centre on the subject - Status of Environment & Related Issues in Odisha under the ENVIS Programme of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change (MoEF&CC), Government of India. Under this programme, time series environment database is being prepared for 17 modules and publication of newsletter & knowledge products.
CES is the Regional Resource Agency (RRA) for National Environment Awareness Campaign (NEAC) programme of Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF), Govt. of India. Under this programme, awareness programme are being conducted through various schools, colleges, NGOs.
CES is the Nodal Agency for conducting World Environment Day programme and coordinating selection of Prakruti Mitra & Prakruti Bandhu awards assigned by Forest & Environment Department, Govt. of Odisha.
CES is the Nodal Agency for conducting National Energy Conservation Day Program of the Engineer-in-Chief(Electricity)-cum-PCEI & SDA, Department of Energy, Govt. of Odisha.
CES is conducting various workshops & training programmes for various target peoples.
