The app has a good idea. It is very slow and unresponsive. It has no zoom witch really annoyed me. The 'crimes' are 2 month old. All it needs is a goid update. Using this app also made me feel very unsafe

I like that there are no ads and it does it's job well however, it requires some more coding to stop it from constantly refreshing every minute

Great idea. As people have said, it's a bit laggy. Has anyone thought of promoting it to senior citizens. Great app for a Doro

About this app

Safe Nav uses UK police data to help you navigate your streets with confidence.

FEATURES

● Use the heat map to find the areas with the lowest crime rates

● Get an alert when you enter a high crime area

● Find out more about crime statistics for your area

The app was created by Joshua, Rikardo, Ijahmar, and Callum in their Apps for Good course at Shireland Collegiate Academy in the West Midlands. As urban teenagers surrounded by media about high crime rates and gangs, the team wanted to help others take control of their city streets by giving them access to real data.

Safe Nav won the Connected Communities category sponsored by TalkTalk at the Apps for Good Awards 2014, the national competition for Apps for Good students. As an Apps for Good Awards winner, the team worked with development agency Codeten Ltd to have their app built professionally and launched on to the market, with the support of Apps for Good and TalkTalk.
