Cooks great, will connect to bluetooth, but has wifi problems. My gateways recognized the sous vide and says its connected, but the app says it can not connect. App needs an update. Till then 3 stars.

For the most part, the app functions properly. The last update started causing issues with the Wi-Fi connection. Previously, it would move relatively seamlessly from Bluetooth to Wi-Fi as you move away from BT range (even when leaving the house). Now, once it goes to Wi-Fi, it starts bouncing the signal so frequently you can't even make temp changes. Once back in BT range, you basically have to reset by holding down the Wi-Fi "button" and then reconnect the device. Besides not having to control the device manually (not really an advantage without Wi-Fi working right), the only real advantage to the app is that there is a decimal reading that the unit itself does not have. Other issues like time and delay not updating for quite a while have been mentioned. I've also noticed it claiming to be preheating when it is already counting down the timer. All in all, someone just needs to do a more thorough QA job while actually using the unit/app.

I like it but theres still a problem. the clock will often start counting down but freeze at some point. this happens mostly when in bluetooth mode but has also happened in wifi mode. So I always have to use a backup method to keep track of cook times. And theres no calculations for bigger items like pork or beef Roasts. there definitely should be a lot more look types in the calculator. also. we recently had a brief power outage of less than a minute. the chefman didn't resume. lost the meat.

With this latest update, I can't control the temperature or time from the control panel, only view what I manually set on the machine, and turn it on and off. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Before this update, I could control the time & temp on my sous vide. I see the smart bar, and see the time and temperature buttons, but when I click on them, it doesn't open anything up where I can adjust them. I synced up my tablet to it to see if it was my phone causing the problem, and when it was just connected by Bluetooth it worked. When I connected via WiFi, it didn't. Unfortunately, I'm using this sous vide in the office, and the kitchen is across the Building, so I need WiFi. It used to work perfectly until this update... Just updated the app, and everything is working again. Thanks for the quick response!

I just ordered the sous vide, and was checking out the app. Looks great, I'm so excited to start! (Will review more once the device arrives.) Only suggestion is on the recipes sometimes the options get lost because it's white text over light background in some of the videos. Other than that it looks gorgeous. I love the steps and videos combined and the calculator is awesome!

Some good, some issues. Main issue is it always says it's preheating. So the timer never starts. Making the app rather useless. If this would get fixed it would be a good app. At least the device is easy to use without the app unlike the other two main brands of curculators. The app is easy to use for setting the temp and time and to get the device connected to wifi. I cannot comment on recipes as I'm really just atarting out.
