About this app

In 2013 according to the National Highway Safety Administration 4,735 pedestrians were killed in the US. 32% of those deaths were between the times of 8pm and midnight. Frighteningly, the National Highway Safety notes that on average a pedestrian is injured or killed by an automobile every two hours in the US.

This app provides pedestrians with a means to use their phones as a preventative safety measure while crossing a street. The app provides a bright flashing yellow light that pedestrians can use to alert their presence to oncoming traffic. Our hope is that our app will act as an additional safety measure to help save lives.

Simply press the "Cross" button to start the flashing light and hold up your phone so cars will see you crossing the street. Press the cross button again to stop the flashing light.

Everyone is a pedestrian!

Please always look both ways before crossing the road. Cross the road at your own risk.
