About this app

Nowadays, a lot of residential estates in Hong Kong and Macau hire property management companies to manage estate-related affairs. Most commonly, property management disseminates estate’s information by posting notices, delivering letters, and even through word of mouth from management staff. However, most of the time, residents tend to forget, miss and ignore what have been told. Also, by using these methods, urgent information (such as elevator stopped service, no water supply, etc) is difficult to reach residents on time. Moreover, information such as building equipment’s status, expiry, maintenance, etc. is always hard to retrieve by residents.

As as result, we develop "Estate" to assist management and information dissemination for estate. "Estate" is an auxiliary building management system made for estate with multi-residential-buildings. The system includes this APP and services running on the remote system server. The user APP - "Estate" connects and interacts with the remote services, and receives push notifications. Both residents and management staff can use this APP to retrieve information. Authorized management staff can even use it to send messages, post notices, update equipment statuses, etc.

Functions and information provided by the App can be accessed by user corresponding to role(s) and authorization level(s) attached to the user account. For example, an apartment owner who works in the same estate, has the roles of 'Resident' and 'Staff', and can access all 'Resident/Tenant' functions and part of 'Staff' functions depending on staff level. A household worker has a 'Resident' role but can only access to a few 'Resident/Tenant' functions.
