About this app

Wuanap is a comfortable neoprene collar with a motherboard equipped with state-of-the-art sensors. These sensors are coordinated by a complex algorithm, which is monitoring all the time what you are doing whilst in the water, so it will send the signal to our inflation system if it detects the 7 activation cases we have studied as dangerous to prevent anyone from drowning.
The Wuanap app is extremely important, because it is going to be updating our algorithm continuously, and is going to be synchronized with the Lifecollar every time you are close to your smartphone so it will bring quite useful information to you as a user about your activity, working also as a personal trainer.
Also, you will be able to connect with your friends who also have Wuanap. In the first phase, where we are now, we will be using the app to get to know the people and their opinions about the final development of Wuanap, which is so important for us to bring you the best possible product, to enjoy water safely.
These are the 7 activation cases when Wuanap is going to inflate:
1. Unconsciousness
2. Immobility
3. Seizures / Epilepsy
4. Panic attack
5. Breath-holding limit
6. Screaming underwater (Manual activation)
7. Panic button (Manual activation)
If Wuanap detects only one of these cases, it will inflate in a fraction of a second, getting your nose and mouth out of the water so you can become conscious and mobile and start breathing again.
Did you know that when you become unconscious underwater, your brain prevents you from inhaling water for 10 to 40 seconds? Within five seconds of losing consciousness, Wuanap will get your head above water. You will start breathing and become conscious again automatically, without needing to be revived. That experience will become a simple anecdote, and you will go on enjoying life as usual.
Your brain is extremely intelligent, especially when it goes into survival mode. When you become unconscious, your brain does not give the order to breathe for several seconds, but waits until your blood oxygen drops to the minimum level. At any point, before that level is reached, if your brain detects that your airway is unobstructed, you will start breathing and recover consciousness. So that scenario will just become a “little anecdote” to share from your life.
Professional freedivers always use the buddy system, because in these cases, the buddy brings them back to the surface so that the diver can immediately start breathing and become conscious again.
Wuanap is the buddy that looks for you in every situation and it is going to bring you to the surface in case you are not able by your own, so you will continue to enjoy water safely!
