This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing My BMW Remote on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

This app used to be great. But for some reason the map feature no longer works and that was its best feature. There hasn't been an update for 2 years which is also very concerning. Very unfortunate for what used to be a very useful app.

This app used to work very well. I own an X3,. However, it now seems that the app no longer supports the search feature for the latest android versions. This was very handy, as it is virtually impossible to use the search features natively built into the vehicle itself. Such a shame - this was the only thing I used this app for, as it was then so easy to simply send the searched location directly to your vehicle. Guess I will just have to use my phone sat nav from now on.

The best feature was its map and GPS information, but for the last 7 months it stopped working, nothing works unfortunately, bmw please fix it 😢

Maps and sending trip destinations to the car stopped working. This is really the one useful feature of this app and if it doesn't work the app becomes useless...

BMW needs to update this app more often. It was working fine on my Poco F1 phone and now it keeps giving me a message, saying " error, cannot connect"!

Does not work properly. Ask multiple times to login and input pin. Also i cant register my car. Afterwards the app crashes. Samsung galaxy s10

The “My BMW Remote"" app provides you with a connection to your BMW via the mobile phone network.

You are unsure whether or not you have locked your parked BMW and wish to lock it for peace of mind - without having to be close by?

The ""My BMW Remote"" app can be used exclusively for BMW vehicles equipped with option 6AP Remote Services or with an active BMW Assist contract (depends on market offer).
The special equipment package 6AG is required in order to use the BMW eDrive services.
Prior activation is required via the Customer Portal Login at www.bmw-connecteddrive.com

The following functions can be used with the ""My BMW Remote"" app (available functions depend on vehicle model and national variant):
• BMW eDrive Services: Charging status and vehicle range, display of charging stations, settings relating to charging and air conditioning for departure times as well as efficiency calculation for the driver’s own vehicle use
• Remote Door Lock & Unlock
• Remote Climate Control
• Remote Horn Blow: send a remote command to sound the horn of your BMW to help locate the vehicle
• Remote Light Flash: remote control of configurable exterior light functions to locate the vehicle
• Online search (powered by GoogleTM): address destination search on the smartphone and transfer to the vehicle navigation system
• Vehicle Finder: Display of the current vehicle position on a smartphone map – in order to find a parked vehicle

The ""My BMW Remote"" app is available free of charge. Usage is based on the general contractual and usage conditions for BMW ConnectedDrive.
