I'm testing this out to recommend to clients in therapy. It's a good start but could use some refinements. I would love the ability to add more than one coping strategy, support person, etc. The link when you first open the app to get more guidance on how to develop a safety plan is dead. Fixing this is critical to the app's usefulness. A walkthrough to customize the plan when you first open the app would be amazing.

This is HORRIBLE! Nothing makes sense; links are either non-existent, or they go to completely irrelevant locations. DO NOT waste your time with this app. (I'd skip anything by this "company" as well. FFS, there's a GLARING typo in the description for their Mood Tracker App. Get it together!)

Great app. Would love it if they added a way to add all your information though, in case of emergency hospital trips etc (prescription drugs, health card #, etc)

Simple and beautiful

About this app

Have your crisis plan available anytime.

In a psychological crisis it is important to act quickly. With the help of the Safety Plan App you can easily access your safety plan at any time on your smartphone. The App also enables you to view your coping strategies and get in touch with people who can help.

The value of a safety plan has been proven in several acclaimed psychotherapies, for example in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). Those affected by depression, schizophrenia, anxiety disorders, borderline personality disorders, addictive disorders and even bulimia or binge eating often create safety plans to help them manage difficult situations. With the aid of this App you can access your own safety plan quickly and easily on your smartphone.

Important: make sure that you create your safety plan together with a psychotherapist. Having done that, you can then simply enter it into the App so that it is easy to retrieve from your smartphone at any time.

Similar to the App developed by the Robert Enke Foundation (EnkeApp), the Safety Plan App is designed to help you in a crisis situation. There is, however, no paid service provided. You need to enter the telephone numbers of your own contacts who will be able to help you in a crisis. Why not give it a go?

The App is not intended to recognise, prevent, monitor, treat or alleviate illnesses. The App acts like a notebook, allowing you simply to enter the steps of your personal safety plan so that they can be quickly accessed. Do keep a physical copy of your safety plan with you, however, so that you are still prepared even if your smartphone breaks or runs out of battery.

We would be grateful for your feedback!
