Installation Instructions

This article outlines two straightforward methods for installing GpfriendS on PC Windows and Mac.

Using BlueStacks

  1. Download the APK/XAPK file from this page.
  2. Install BlueStacks by visiting http://bluestacks.com.
  3. Open the APK/XAPK file by double-clicking it. This action will launch BlueStacks and begin the application's installation. If the APK file does not automatically open with BlueStacks, right-click on it and select 'Open with...', then navigate to BlueStacks. Alternatively, you can drag-and-drop the APK file onto the BlueStacks home screen.
  4. Wait a few seconds for the installation to complete. Once done, the installed app will appear on the BlueStacks home screen. Click its icon to start using the application.

Using LDPlayer

  1. Download and install LDPlayer from https://www.ldplayer.net.

About this app

Perfect for the heavy traveller. Sort your contacts by proximity. Need a place to crash for the night, find the closest friend to call. Lost in the big city? See who you can call for directions. This app reads through your contacts compares the address you have with where you are now, and sorts them by proximity. You can then click on them to give them a call or a text. You can also pull friend location data from Facebook to add to what you have in your contacts.

Permissions needed are:
- Coarse Location: to get where you are of course.
- Internet: to turn addresses into coordinates
- Read contacts: to read in the contacts that have addresses in them.

- The last APK was corrupt and caused a force close on start. Apologies for any issues this might have caused.

- Fixed force close when application is unable to get current location.

-You can now pull data from Facebook!
- Rewrote how the location data is pulled and stored so it should be faster.
- No longer links with contacts to avoid crashing when synced with Facebook (should be fixed in next release).
