About this app

BlancRide is a carpooling app that gives you the ability to catch a ride to exactly where you need to go, when you need to get there. Unlike a taxi, BlancRide takes advantage of the available seats that drivers already have in their cars to ensure complete and total ridesharing! Those available seats have the potential to build a true carpooling community built on being green, while making your commute convenient and cost-efficient.

How It Works

As a driver or passenger, simply post where you’re headed, where you’re leaving from and our app takes care of everything else so that you can carpool with ease. Using an advanced mapping algorithm, BlancRide finds the closest and most convenient match which makes for an effortless and perfect rideshare. Payment? Not a problem. At the end of your ride, the app charges your credit card and emails you a receipt. No awkwardness or having to ask “Can we stop at an ATM?” or “Do you have change for a twenty?”

As a passenger you can:

• Enjoy door-to-door service
• Call your driver for free if you have any concerns
• Pay using the app with your credit card

As a driver, you can:

• Call your passengers for free
• Save money as you take your daily commute by splitting ride costs

NOTE: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We recommend ensuring your phone is plugged into your charger or kept above 50% battery to ensure optimal operation of the BlancRide app.

App Permissions

Required to be able to access the camera device.
Allows applications to access information about networks.
Allows applications to access information about Wi-Fi networks.
Allows applications to open network sockets.
Allows an application to write to external storage.
Allows an app to access approximate location.
Allows an app to access precise location.
Allows access to the list of accounts in the Accounts Service.
Allows using PowerManager WakeLocks to keep processor from sleeping or screen from dimming.
Allows access to the vibrator.
Allows an application to initiate a phone call without going through the Dialer user interface for the user to confirm the call.
Allows an application to record audio.
Allows an application to modify global audio settings.
Allows applications to connect to paired bluetooth devices.
Allows applications to discover and pair bluetooth devices.
