The user interface is terrible for the high price tag of the controller. The initial setup instructions are wrong. I had to Google and figure out how to port into the thing using its IP address, which would have been fine if they'd just put that in the instructions. App crashes a lot. You can't even use all the features unless you connect to it online. I'd love to talk to a developer about how to fix this UI. Just selecting your pit and meat temp is a pain. I wouldn't buy it if I were you.

This app has worked great for me. For first connection to the unit plug it in right beside your router. Thanks for a great product takes the anxiety out of cooking.

Their is a problem with the hardware or the software. Either way when you pay damn near 300 dollars for this, it should work. The fan keeps going out. I do a lot of over night cooks and smokes. So when the fan says its going at 100% but actually is going at 0% it shuts down my bbq and ruins the meat. The alarm only goes off when its not convenient and will not wake you up Wild inaccuracies in temperature fluctuations. There is no way my meat hits 600° when it shuts off your grill at 3am

Originally I had a problem connecting, could not get this app to connect to my Egg Genius. . Edit: eventually I called in and got tech service. The lady knew how to fix the problem involving entering the IP address of the Egg Genius and now it works fine.
