About this app

Whenever I go up on the roof I always see these big round cotton candies that float in the sky. I always wonder what they are and what types are there? I also wonder how they form and what are their uses. Clouds sometimes appear in different colors and I wonder what types of colors. Clouds are a part of nature and I wonder if they have a specific name. Without a doubt clouds are the most wonderful things I have seen.
There are different levels of clouds and in each level there are different types of clouds. First, there are the high clouds which are 6000 meters high and they are cirrus, cirrostratus and cirrocumulus clouds. Cirrus clouds are the most common of the high clouds, they are composed of ice and are thin and wispy. These clouds are usually white. Whereas cirrostratus clouds are thin and sheet like high clouds that often cover the entire sky. Cirrostratus clouds usually come 12 to 24 hours before a rain or snow storm. However cirrocumulus clouds appear as small rounded white puffs that appear in rose. As u see high clouds however can be interesting and nice because it shows how many types of clouds there are and what they can do.
Mid-level clouds are about 4000nmeters from the ground. The clouds that are up there are altostratus and altocumulus clouds. Altostratus clouds are grey or blue grey mid-level clouds that are composed of ice crystals and water droplets. Similarly altocumulus clouds are also mid-level clouds that are made out of water droplets. They appear as grey and puffy masses. There are not many types of mid-level clouds because most of them are not discovered.
Low-level clouds are about 200 meters from the ground. They are those clouds usually seen from your balcony that look really close. The types of low-level clouds are nimbostratus, stratus, stratocumulus and cumulus. Nimbostratus clouds form a dark grey, wet looking cloudy layer associated with continuously falling rain or snow. Stratus clouds are uniformed greyish clouds that often cover the entire sky. Light mist or drizzle sometimes fall out of these clouds. Stratocumulus clouds are low puffy and grey. Most form in rows with blue sky visible between them. Cumulus clouds are white, puffy clouds that look like pieces of floating cotton candy. Most clouds are low clouds and that is because they were the closest to see and the first ones to be discovered.
So now you understand my questions and my point of view. Clouds are amazing, beautiful and interesting to us. Now you know what are the types of clouds, their names and how they form.
