It's not hype. It's not pretense. It's a fact: The Heather at Boyne Highlands Resort has earned its reputation as one of the finest championship courses in the entire United States. From the opening tee shot in 1966 and bearing all the markings of its legendary designer, this Robert Trent Jones Sr. course has tested some of the finest names in the game, playing host to Michigan Amateurs, AGJA Championships, the Michigan State Pro-Am, and The Celebrity Tour. But no matter how your game is going, The Heather's sublime setting is a reward in itself. With a longer layout and several forced carries, the course requires careful planning and patience. But the abundant wildlife, rolling fairways, natural wetlands, bright white sand bunkers and blueberry bogs punctuating the course are a constant reminder that golf is much more than just a tally at the end of the round.
