Many days would bring great wallpapers, but many were terrible eyesores which were just pictures, not images designed for wallpapers. This led to a poor UX and finally the decision to uninstall.

The one addon that you should have for Muzei. This brings some of the best, most breathtaking pictures to your phones wallpaper. Plus it lets you skip ahead and also favourite wallpapers.

Love Muzei & tried that author's APOD extension, but it doesn't have the extra features of this one, so switched all my devices to this one. Great work; thanks!

About this app

Muzei is required for this to do anything! Get it here: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.nurik.roman.muzei

Astronomy Picture of the Day extension for Roman Nurik's live wallpaper, 'Muzei'. By default it will automatically change your wallpaper to the latest image on NASA's APOD website ( http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ ) but it also includes the option to update using random images from the archives however often you like. You can also add any image you like to your favourites so they are displayed more regularly.

When you open the Muzei app and choose APOD, this extension will display the image title and the name of the person or organisation that developed the picture.

To use:
- Install Muzei from the link above
- Install this extension
- Set your wallpaper to Muzei live wallpaper
- In Muzei settings, choose APOD
- Press the cog icon to change your preferences

PERMISSIONS:

Network communication
- required to fetch images from NASA's APOD website.

Storage
- required for storing your chosen favourite images' web addresses in a plain text file, which you can find at '/sdcard/ApodImages/favourites.txt'.
- It is also used if 'Nexus 5 stability fix' (found in the Extras menu) is enabled. I found that Muzei crashed on some devices (Nexus 5, particularly) when handling images of size 640px*480px, so this workaround downloads the image to check (and, if necessary, alter) its size before passing it to Muzei to set as your wallpaper.

New features

1.2.4 (04 April 2014):
- Added intent filter for APOD web links, giving you an easy way to load images sent to you by friends or found through web browsing.
-- Nothing will happen immediately - just a toast showing that it worked - but the linked image will be loaded next time the extension updates the wallpaper.
-Minor bug fix in the update interval dialog that affected a few devices.
1.2.3 (03 April 2014):
Nexus 5 stability: See https://plus.google.com/107615660607219898617/posts/Aqb9VjQrnXW
